The Republican National Convention will culminate with a speech tonight from Presidential Nominee Donald Trump. It included the naming of JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate and a massive security presence throughout the Milwaukee area. The security perimeter is expected to be taken down overnight with most visiting the city headed out of town and back home.       Doubts are growing among prominent Democrats about President Biden's campaign. "The Washington Post" reports former President Obama told his allies Biden needs to "seriously consider the viability of his candidacy." The Post says Obama has been taking calls from worried Democrats. Meanwhile, "Axios" reports Biden may be persuaded by Democratic party leaders and close friends to drop out of the race by this weekend.       A meeting has reportedly taken place between the director of the Secret Service and former President Trump. FOX News reports the brief meeting took place last night at the Republican National Convention. It's not known yet what they spoke about. Director Kimberly Cheatle has faced intense scrutiny about the reported failures at Donald Trump's Pennsylvania rally where he was grazed by a would-be assassin's bullet.       President Biden today is announcing another round of student debt forgiveness. This time around, it's one-point-two-billion-dollars in relief for public sector workers like teachers, nurses and firefighters. Borrowers can qualify through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Meantime, Republicans are leading legal challenges to the administration's earlier debt forgiveness efforts.       Francis Ford Coppola, Bonnie Raitt and The Grateful Dead are among the honorees at this year's John F. Kennedy Center honors. The 47th annual Kennedy Center event will take place in December, and the sitting president traditionally attends. Other honorees will include jazz musician Arturo Sandoval.       The United States cruised to a big victory in their third contest of the USA Basketball Showcase. Team USA took down three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic [[ yo-kitch ]] and Serbia 105-79 in an exhibition game in Abu Dhabi. The Americans are now 3-and-0 during their warmup tour for the Paris Olympics. Jokic posted 16 points and 11 boards for Serbia in the losing effort. Team USA will now square off against South Sudan on Saturday in London.
