The Stadium Theatre Appoints New Executive Director/CEO

 

             The Board of Directors unanimously appointed Jennifer Webb to the position of Executive Director and CEO of the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre & Conservatory. This change in leadership follows Cathy Levesque’s announcement of retirement.

 

            Jennifer earned her Masters of Arts in Theatre Education from Emerson College and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Speech, Psychology and Dance from Wagner College in New York. Webb earned The Superintendent’s Award for excellence in instructional leadership which speaks to her ability to lead and inspire. Under her leadership as Artistic Director, The Stadium has earned over 40 Broadway World Awards.

 

            Armand Desmarais, President of the Board of Directors, stated “Jennifer’s years of experience; immersed in the philosophy of the Stadium; has prepared her for this role. The board was impressed by her extensive experience and her numerous accolades. The combination of her expertise in the arts along with her broad vision for the future will be a powerful recipe for continued growth and innovation at the Stadium.”

President Trump wants the Justice Department to pay him for criminally investigating him. Trump says he's owed damages for two investigations: the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, and the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago home related to the handling of classified documents. Trump is reportedly seeking 230-million-dollars as compensation.        Millions of Americans will soon be impacted if the government shutdown continues. Funding for SNAP food assistance may run out soon. The Acting Administrator of SNAP says the program won't have enough money by the end of the month if the shutdown continues. Over 42 million low-income Americans use SNAP.        NATO Secretary Mark Rutte [[ RUH-tuh ]] is set to meet with President Trump today. The meeting, announced on short notice, comes after a possible summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin was canceled.        President Trump's nominee to head the Office of Special Counsel is pulling his name consideration after leaked racist text messages. On Tuesday Paul Ingrassia announced he'd be withdrawing his name because he doesn't have enough Republican support. This comes after several GOP senators said they would not vote for Ingrassia over Politico's reporting of inflammatory remarks he made about Martin Luther King Jr. Day and having a "Nazi streak."        The price of gold is dropping as investors profit off record highs. Gold hit an all-time peak on Monday at nearly 44-hundred dollars an ounce, as investors buy precious metals in times of economic uncertainty. On Tuesday, gold dropped over five percent, its steepest decline in over five years.        The Mega Millions jackpot keeps going up. There was no grand prize winner in Tuesday night's big drawing so the jackpot rolls over to 680-million-dollars with a cash option of just over 318-million. The next drawing is on Friday.
