Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury

On July 25, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jose Parra Reyes with one count of possession of more than one kilogram of fentanyl, one count of possession of more than one kilogram of heroin, one count of possession of more than one kilogram of cocaine, four counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, four counts of possession of a firearm with intent to deliver controlled substances, four counts of possession of a firearm while previously convicted of a crime of violence, and five counts of possessing a prohibited large capacity feeding device.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on January 30, 2024. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on July 31, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

During an interview with CNN's "State of the Union," Frey says the move is "clearly designed to intimidate."        Most Americans think the economy has grown weaker under President Trump. The poll released by The Wall Street Journal last week found nearly 60 percent of those surveyed rate the economy as "not so good" or "poor." Less than ten percent described the economy as "excellent" while 33 percent described it as being "good."        The Divisional Round of the NFL postseason is in the books. The Patriots thumped the Texans 28-16 from Foxboro while the Rams edged the Bears 20-17 in overtime from Chicago. New England visits Denver for the AFC Championship game after the top-seeded Broncos took down the Bills 33-30 in OT on Saturday. Los Angeles will head to Seattle to play for a spot in Super Bowl 60.        There's no trading on Wall Street today in observance of MLK Day. No major economic reports are on the calendar until Wednesday.        A Republican candidate for governor in Florida is suggesting a 50 percent "sin tax" on OnlyFans incomes. James Fishback recently said on the conservative podcast NXR Studios that all creators in Florida should pay 50-percent toward tat state on all earnings gained through the platform. The "sin tax" would fund crisis-pregnancy centers, mental-health initiatives and education systems.
