RIPTA Announces New Paid Prep Test Course Program For Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Permit in Collaboration with RI Institute for Labor Studies & Research (ILSR)

 

RIPTA will pay qualified applicants $25.33 per hour to prepare for the CDL permit test in an instructor-led classroom hosted by ILSR

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) and the Rhode Island Institute for Labor Studies & Research (ILSR) are excited to announce the launch of a new Commercial Driver's License (CDL) prep course program, designed to attract and prepare new transit drivers in obtaining their CDL permit. This innovative program offers participants the opportunity to earn $25.33 per hour as they prepare for their CDL permit test in an instructor-led classroom.

 

To kick off this initiative, RIPTA is hosting a job fair on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at RIPTA Headquarters, 705 Elmwood Avenue in Providence. This event will provide a unique opportunity for potential applicants to learn more about the new program, undergo onsite interviews, and start the prescreening process for the paid CDL permit test prep course program.
