Interim Report of the Providence County Grand Jury - Reported April 3, 2024

On April 3, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Ivan Rodriguez with one count of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree child molestation.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on diverse dates between July 16, 2020, and July 31, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 24, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

President Trump is participating in a rural health roundtable event. It comes after his administration announced last month that ten-billion-dollars would be shared among states for rural health care through what it calls the Rural Health Transformation Program. It's designed to help smaller communities where hospitals have struggled and Americans have faced challenges getting care.        A Utah judge will hear arguments later today on whether prosecutors in the Charlie Kirk assassination case should be disqualified because of a conflict of interest. Lawyers for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of shooting the conservative personality at a rally in September, say a key prosecutor has a family member who was present at the time Kirk was shot. They argue that communications between them raise concerns over impartiality and the prosecution's decision to seek the death penalty.        The Ford line worker in Michigan who allegedly heckled President Trump earlier this week has received over 800-thousand dollars in GoFundMe donations since the incident. Trump was in Detroit Tuesday to give an address and tour the Ford facility, when a worker can be heard heckling Trump over the release of the Epstein files. The President is then seen on video pointing at the man twice before raising his middle finger at him.        President Trump may reportedly invoke the Insurrection Act to quell anti-ICE protests in Minnesota. The Insurrection Act would give Trump the authority to deploy the military to suppress a rebellion on American soil. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday that only Trump could say what would be his "tipping point" to declare an insurrection, and accused Democratic leaders using their platforms to, in her words, encourage violence against law enforcement.        H-E-B is claiming the top spot when it comes to grocery stores. Dunnhumby, a customer data science company, recently released its ninth annual Retailer Preference Index, ranking the chain first for the fourth year in a row. Market Basket, Woodman's, Costco, and Aldi round out the top five.        The two-time defending World Series champions continue to add to their star-studded roster. ESPN is reporting that the Los Angeles Dodgers are signing outfielder Kyle Tucker to a four-year, 240-million dollar contract. The deal reportedly includes opt-outs after the second and third years. The 60-million dollar average annual value is the second largest for a player in MLB history behind only Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani.
