President Trump is hosting Senate Republicans at the White House today as the government shutdown has rolled into its third week. Trump is expected to thank them for keeping a unified front. There's no votes set for today after Senators failed to pass a spending measure for the eleventh time on Monday.        Vice President JD Vance says things are going better than he thought with the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Speaking from Israel, Vance said things are going says things are going well, but there's more work to do. The vice president will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tomorrow.        Senate Majority Leader John Thune is signaling support for the White House's decision to select a new nominee to head the Office of Special Counsel. Thune's stance comes after Republican senators said they would not vote for Paul Ingrassia over Politico's reporting of inflammatory remarks he made about Martin Luther King Jr. Day and having a "Nazi streak." The senate majority leader told reporters that the White House should consider withdrawing Ingrassia's nomination because "he's not going to pass."        The 13th tropical storm of the season has formed over the Central Caribbean Sea. Forecasters say Melissa could make a quick, northward turn, continue to drift west, or do a combination of both. They say Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Cuba should prepare for heavy rain, strong winds, and flooding. The chances of the storm impacting the U.S. mainland are low, but they're not zero, according to forecasters.        Amazon Web Services says its resolved widespread internet outages have been resolved. In an update issued Monday evening, the company confirmed that all AWS services had returned to normal. Earlier in the day, a surge in outage reports pointed to ongoing disruptions affecting a range of major online services, including Venmo, Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, Snapchat, and Lyft.        Rapper Gucci Mane is opening up about his diagnosis of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. During a recent interview with "The Breakfast Club," Gucci Mane, alongside his wife, discussed his new memoir titled, Episodes, and the couple discussed how they manage his mental health challenges. He emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for his health, and hopes that by sharing his story he can help others facing similar challenges.
