President Trump is accusing Denmark of failing to address what he calls the Russian threat to Greenland. Trump ramped up the pressure for a U.S. takeover of the Danish territory over the weekend by announcing new tariffs against European allies who don't support his plan. EU leaders and other NATO members remain firmly opposed to any change in Greenland's current status.        The Pentagon reportedly has about 15-hundred troops on standby for possible deployment to Minnesota. It comes as anti-ICE protests continue in the state after the deadly shooting of Renee Good by an agent. President Trump has said he may invoke the Insurrection Act as a result of the unrest, however on Friday, he said he may not use it any more.        Much of the nation is bracing for another blast of arctic cold along with a winter storm that could last into the weekend. Forecasters expect today to be the coldest for the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions while Tuesday will be the coldest day of the week for the Northeast. The cold and snow in the first half of this week is not likely to be record-setting, but the next round of winter weather shaping up for later this week could be both record-setting and disruptive.        The world's billionaires keep getting richer. A new report by the global charity group Oxfam shows billionaires' wealth has risen sharply to a record high of more than 18 trillion dollars. Meanwhile, the report noted poverty reduction has slowed to levels similar to where they were in 2019. The charity group released the report today to coincide with the start of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.        A new college football national champion will be crowned tonight. Top-ranked Indiana squares off against Number-10 Miami from the Hurricanes' home turf. The Hoosiers are a perfect, 15-and-0 on the season after securing blowout wins over Alabama and Oregon in the Rose and Peach Bowls. This is Indiana's first title game appearance in program history. The underdog 'Canes upset last year's defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes and came back to edge Ole Miss to advance. Miami is playing for its sixth national championship.        Country music fans are celebrating Dolly Parton's 80th birthday as the nation also pauses to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee issued the proclamation for January 19th to recognize the country music legend's lifelong impact on the Volunteer State. The Opry marked the occasion Saturday night with its annual "Opry Goes Dolly" show, featuring tributes from Vince Gill, Lainey Wilson, Rhonda Vincent and more.
