Senate Republicans are having lunch at the White House with President Trump as the government shutdown is in its third week. Trump is expected to thank them for keeping a unified front. There's no votes set for today after Senators failed to pass a spending measure for the eleventh time yesterday.        President Trump can deploy National Guard troops in Portland, Oregon. That's according to a ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The panel said in its 2-1 ruling on Monday that presidential determinations are not reviewable by federal courts.        Amazon Web Services says that it has resolved widespread internet outages that caused issues with multiple popular websites much of Monday. In an update issued Monday evening, the company confirmed that all AWS services had returned to normal. Earlier in the day, a surge in outage reports pointed to ongoing disruptions affecting a range of major online services, including Venmo, Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, Snapchat, and Lyft. Users also experienced issues with Amazon's own services, such as Alexa and Ring security cameras        Demolition efforts are underway on the East Wing of the White House. According to an administration official, crews started construction on the East Wing as part of President Trump's project to build a new ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the 250-million-dollar ballroom wouldn't 'interfere' with the existing White House structure, but later wrote on Truth Social that the East Wing would be "fully modernized as part of this process."        Alaska officials say evacuations are now complete for the communities of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok [[ kwee-gill-in-gawk ]] following devastating flooding caused by former Typhoon Halong. The Alaska Division of Homeland Security says crews are now working on evacuating residents from Nightmute and Tuntutuliak. So far, about 18-hundred Alaskans from 49 different communities have been forced from their homes after the remnants of Halong battered Western Alaska with heavy rains and major flooding on October 11th.        The Mega Millions jackpot is in record territory. Tuesday night's drawing is worth an estimated 650-million dollars with a cash option of just over 304-million. No one has won the jackpot prize in three-and-a-half months.
