Early yesterday the Woonsocket Water Department advised that maintenance on that system’s water storage tank on Rhodes Ave would require the tank to be drained and off line for up to three weeks. Given that circumstance, to avoid a condition where system pressure could be reduced to unacceptable levels, the Slatersville Water Company is delaying its flushing program scheduled for this week until after that tank work is complete. Woonsocket Water is taking actions to sustain our system functions at all times, but it is prudent to advise that customers in the area of Mendon Road, Branch Village, Forestdale and Slatersville may still realize periodic pressure reductions while the work is being done on the Rhodes Ave tank.

We are also asking that our industrial users in the Branch Village and North Smithfield industrial parks avoid unusually large draws of water unless notice and coordination is arranged with our water superintendent Russ Carpenter. Maintenance periods such as these fit into the category of temporary inconvenience for long term benefit. We ask for understanding and patience as the work is done.

President Trump is lashing out after House Democrats introduced articles of impeachment against him. Speaking at a rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Trump told supporters the charges he's accused of are pathetic. Democratic leaders announced the abuse of power and obstruction of Congress charges Tuesday, but Trump expected more based off the accusations in the Ukraine controversy.       A member of President Trump's cabinet is happy to see an agreement on the USMCA trade deal. USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue says the agriculture industry "stands to gain significantly" because of the deal. The accord still needs to get through both chambers of Congress.       Andrew Yang is going to be on the stage for the next Democratic presidential debate. He joins six other candidates for the December 19th event in Los Angeles. The other qualifiers include Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, and Elizabeth Warren.       Lawmakers in New Jersey are looking to ban discrimination against people because of their hairstyle. A bill doing just that passed a state Assembly committee on Monday with an eight to zero vote. Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake says regardless of race, everybody in New Jersey should be able to wear their hair "with dignity and without discrimination."       Qdoba [[Q-doh-ba]] is out with its queso-scented candle for the holidays. The neon orange candle is meant to smell like the Mexican restaurant's own queso made of cheddar, American and monterey jack cheeses. The stocking stuffer goes for 10-bucks on the company's website.
