Anthony Oliveira (age 34)

Pawtucket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Anthony Oliveira with one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in permanent incapacity, one count of possession of a large capacity feeding device, and one count of discharging a firearm within the compact part of the City of Pawtucket. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about February 1, 2023. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 18, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Gino Rossi (age 28)

Woonsocket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Gino Rossi with one count of first-degree domestic robbery, three counts of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic strangulation, one count of simple domestic assault, one and one count of domestic kidnapping.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Woonsocket on or about September 23, 2023. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Jesus Martinez (age 22)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jesus Martinez with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Eduardo Mercado (age 25)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Eduardo Mercado with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of possession of brass knuckles.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Steven Duarte (age 36)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Adam Dufault (age 35)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

The infamous "Access Hollywood" tape made Donald Trump's 2016 campaign go into crisis mode, according to his former press secretary. Trump brags about grabbing women's genitals in the tape. Today on the witness stand in Trump's hush money trial, Hope Hicks said Trump initially told her, "That doesn't sound like something I would say."       Police continue to arrest protesters at New York City college campuses today. The NYPD arrested dozens at two universities embroiled in pro-Palestinian protests. Police were informed by The New School that it wanted the University Center cleared out after protesters set up an encampment and were sleeping there. Meanwhile, police made arrests while clearing out an encampment on the sidewalks outside of NYU buildings.       Russia's war on Ukraine isn't expected to come to an end in the near future. That's what Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines said during a Senate hearing this week. Haines said Russia has intensified strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure to hamper Kyiv's ability to move arms and troops, slow defense production and force it to consider negotiations. The U.S. has sent significant military support to Ukraine to defend itself and recently approved more than 60-billion dollars in aid.       Mexican authorities are questioning a group of people over a trio of missing Americans and Australians. They found a vehicle, tents and a cell phone in a search where the men were last seen. The Baja California prosecutors' office says one American and two Australian brothers were reported missing on April 29th. They were on a surfing and camping trip about 60 miles south of Tijuana. Authorities are talking to three Mexicans in connection with the case, although it's not clear whether any of them are suspects.       The California Supreme Court has ruled a person cannot be detained for trying to avoid cops. The decision specifies that trying to avoid contact with law enforcement does not constitute a crime. The case was brought by a man from Los Angeles who was detained on suspicion of illegal activity when he crouched down behind a car as cops approached.       UFC 301 is all set for tomorrow night in Brazil. In the main event, Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja [[ ala-shan-dre pan-toja ]] will attempt to make his second title defense when he faces off against Steve Erceg. In the co-main, former featherweight champion and Brazilian Jose [[ jo-zay ]] Aldo is coming out of retirement to fight Jonathan Martinez in a bantamweight bout.
