Yoga for Adults at the Library

The Harris Library, 303 Clinton St., is hosting a free 6-week yoga session for adults ages 18 and up. Learn gentle stretching and breathing techniques that you can practice in your home to increase health and flexibility and to reduce tension. Classes are taught by a certified instructor, limited to 15 participants and registration is required. Sign-up begins on Monday, September 23rd at 9am by calling Margaret at 401-767-4126. Please leave your name, contact phone number and the program you are signing up for if no answer. You will receive a call back to confirm your registration spot. If confirmed, p lease bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes. There will be a waiver to sign at class. For more information, please call Margaret at the library.

Conservatives are warning Republican Mike Johnson against raising the threshold required to trigger the procedure to oust the House speaker. Johnson was involved in a tense exchange on the House floor today with a group of conservatives calling on him to assure them he would not raise the threshold on the motion to vacate. Johnson refused to commit, frustrating lawmakers like Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, who later told reporters doing so would likely kick off an effort to remove Johnson.
