PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Governor Dan McKee announced he has selected Dr. Michael Reuter to serve on Rhode Island’s Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC).
“Rhode Island’s 400 miles of coastline and world-renowned beaches are of the utmost importance to our social, economic and environmental goals and must be protected,” said Governor Dan McKee. “Dr. Reuter’s passion to improve the health of Rhode Islanders and the environment around them makes him a perfect addition to the council. I look forward to working with him to find creative and sustainable ways we can manage Rhode Island’s future.”
Dr. Reuter is a board-certified podiatric surgeon at Medical Associates of Rhode Island, Rhode Island Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine and The Miriam Hospital.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Roger Williams University in 2003 and received a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2008.
While he has dedicated his career to improving the health and well-being of others, Dr. Reuter’s passion for the environment has led him to be an active member of Sail Newport’s Advisory Council, the Board of Directors for Providence Community Boating Center and the Barrington Harbor Commission.
"I would like to thank Governor McKee and the Senate for their confidence in me. I look forward to serving my fellow Rhode Islanders and helping to protect our state’s most treasured natural resource by serving on the Coastal Resources Management Council," Dr. Reuter said.
The Governor has submitted Dr. Reuter’s name to the Rhode Island Senate for advice and consent.
