A bunch of new laws take effect tomorrow. New social media limits for minors go into effect for Virginia, Minnesota and North Carolina. In California, there's a new law banning ICE agents from covering their faces while on duty. New York, Illinois, and Delaware have new laws that would allow terminally ill patients to end their lives with medical assistance. New Jersey will require a thorough investigation of chronic school absenteeism in 2026. And, the minimum wage is going up in 17 states starting January 1st.        Cases of measles in the U.S. have reached their highest level in more than three decades. The CDC says, for the first time since 1993, there were more than two-thousand case of measles in 2025. That's compared to less than 300 in 2024.        President Trump has issued his first vetoes of his second term in office. Trump rejected a pair of bills that passed Congress with bipartisan support, one a pipeline measure, and the other legislation that would include more land for a Native American tribe in Florida. The pipeline bill, known as the Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act, looked to bring forward completion of a pipeline project to bring clean water to southeastern Colorado.        Boeing has a new eight-point-six-billion-dollar contract to build fighter jets for Israel. Under the agreement, Boeing will produce 25 new F-15 aircraft for Israel, along with an option for an additional 25 aircraft.        TMZ reports a grand jury is considering a murder indictment against R and B singer D4vd [[ DAVID ]]. It is connected with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the teen girl whose remains were found in the trunk of the singer's Tesla in September.        The next stage in the College Football Playoff is here. Number-2 Ohio State squares off against 10th-seeded Miami in the Quarterfinal Round at the Cotton Bowl from Arlington on Wednesday. Three other matchups take place on New Year's Day. Fourth-ranked Texas Tech battles Number-5 Oregon in the Orange Bowl from Miami, top-seeded Indiana duels ninth-ranked Alabama in the Rose Bowl from Pasadena and Number-3 Georgia clashes with sixth-seeded Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl from New Orleans.
