Recall of Certain Infant Formula Sold Under CVS Health Brand Name

 

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is advising consumers that Perrigo Company is recalling certain cans of store brand Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder due to levels of Vitamin D above the maximum level permitted. These products were available in CVS locations in Rhode Island. They were sold under the brand name CVS Health. (See product label attached.)

 

The recalled products were also shipped to other states, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

 

For most infants, short-term consumption of the affected lot codes is unlikely to cause adverse health implications. In a small subset of infants with existing health conditions (for example, impaired renal function), there is the potential that consumption of the recalled product could result in health complications. Parents and caregivers who may have purchased the product should look for the lot codes below with “use by” dates, which can be found on the bottom of the package and should contact their healthcare professional if they have any concerns.

Major media organizations are refusing to agree to the Pentagon's new press policies. The Pentagon gave outlets until the end of today to sign on to the new policies that outline rules that could lead to journalists being deemed as "security risks" and have their access taken away. NBC News, CBS News and ABC News along with Fox News and CNN issued a joint statement against the new policies.        The Senate is again rejecting a Republican-backed funding bill aimed at ending the ongoing government shutdown, marking the eighth time the chamber has turned down the proposal previously passed by the House. Democrats continue to prioritize healthcare, pushing for an extension of subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.        President Trump warns the U.S. will get involved if Hamas does not disarm. Trump told reporters Tuesday that if the Palestinian militant group does not disarm, in his words, "We will disarm them." He did not offer any more details when pressed.        The Young Republican National Federation says some members should resign after the leak of a group chat. On Tuesday Politico reported on a group chat containing several members of the organization. The report has garnered significant controversy, with politicians on both sides of the aisle saying many of the messages in the chat are racist and antisemitic. In a post on social media, the organization's board of directors said they were "appalled by the vile and inexcusable language."        The Dodgers are leading the National League Championship Series. Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw a complete game and surrendered just one run to give his side a 5-1 win over the Brewers from Milwaukee. LA will try to take a stranglehold of the best-of-seven series when it shifts to Los Angeles for Game Three on Thursday.        Google's "Frightgeist" reveals the most popular Halloween costumes in the nation. The site uses search data from Google Trends to determine which costumes are coming up most often in a given city. Nationally, the top five most popular costumes for 2025 are all from KPop Demon Hunters.
