President Trump says he may invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota as protests over ICE operations continue in the state. In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump said he will take action "if the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of ICE." A president hasn't invoked the Insurrection Act since President George H.W. Bush in 1992 when the Rodney King riots broke out in Los Angeles.        President Trump will meet with Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado at the White House today. Trump's relationship with Machado has become somewhat complicated since the U.S. arrested former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. Following that military operation, Trump said Machado "doesn't have the support within, or the respect within, the country," adding, "She's a very nice woman, but she doesn't have the respect."        Defense lawyers have challenged the testimony of a key witness in the Brendan Banfield murder trial in Virginia. Juliana Peres Magalhaes [[ MAH-gah-lees ]] took the stand for a second day of testimony in a Fairfax County courtroom yesterday. Banfield's attorney pressed the Brazilian au pair for details about the alleged plot to murder Christine Banfield and Robert Ryan, who were killed inside the Banfield home in 2023.        A crew from the International Space Station has returned to Earth ahead of schedule because of a sick astronaut. NASA says the U.S.-Japanese-Russian crew from the SpaceX Crew-11 mission has splashed down safely off the coast of San Diego. It was the first time in the 25-year history of the space station that a mission was cut short due to a medical issue.        The UN Security Council is meeting today to discuss the crisis unfolding in Iran. Multiple news reports say a briefing on the situation was requested by the United States. The meeting comes as over three-thousand protesters have reportedly died in Iran as authorities crack down on anti-government demonstrations.        President Trump will welcome the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers to the White House today. The Panthers became back-to-back NHL champions after beating Edmonton in six last year. After the visit the Panthers head to Raleigh to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
