Celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti is claiming he will beat charges he tried to shake down Nike. Prosecutors accuse the former lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels of threatening to expose damaging information about Nike unless the company paid him millions of dollars. Avenatti posted a 300-thousand-dollar bond and said he will be fully exonerated once the evidence comes out.    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is shutting down an effort to get the full Russia report released. The Kentucky Republican blocked a resolution to release the report, saying the attorney general is working with the special counsel to determine what can be released publicly. Attorney General Bill Barr wrote in a summary of the report that President Trump was cleared of accusations of colluding with Russia.    A dad who lost his six-year-old daughter in the Sandy Hook school massacre in Connecticut is dead from an apparent suicide. Newton Police say Jeremy Richman took his own life this morning, although the medical examiner's office is still investigating the exact cause of death. Richman co-founded the Avielle Foundation after his first-grade daughter, Avielle Richman, died in the 2012 mass shooting.    New Jersey lawmakers are calling off a scheduled vote today to legalize recreational marijuana and it's unclear when the matter will be revisited. Throughout last week, Governor Phil Murphy and legislative leaders have been trying to change minds of those not on board. The legislation would make it legal for people 21 and older to use weed and calls for expungement for those convicted of low level marijuana offenses.    A Maryland man is a lot richer after finding a winning lottery ticket stuffed away in his wallet. The 50-year-old told Maryland lottery officials that he often plays the Multi-Match game, but just sticks the tickets into his lottery wallet until it becomes filled up. He knew there had been a big winner in his area and waited over two months to check his tickets. When he did, he found he had one worth over one-million-dollars.
