President Trump is at a Mideast peace summit in Egypt. Talking to reporters just before the meeting, Trump said Egypt played a very important part in the peace process between Israel and Hamas. Earlier today Hamas released all 20 remaining Israeli hostages held since October 7th of 2023.        There's been little progess to end the federal government shutdown. The Senate has conducted seven votes on Democratic and Republican plans for short-term funding but all have failed. Senators won't be back for another effort until tomorrow.        Stocks are surging on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been up close to 500 points at times today. It comes after President Trump said "don't worry about China" in a Truth Social post yesterday, after he posted about increasing tariffs against the country on Friday.        People are missing after former Typhoon Halong hammered Southwest Alaska and led to widespread flooding. The Department of Public Safety says dozens of people were rescued from rising floodwaters after the storm made landfall overnight into Sunday. Officials say at least three people remain unaccounted for in Kwigillingok [[ kwee-gill-in-gawk ]], and others may still be unaccounted for in Kipnuk as well.        No arrests have been made yet after at least four people were killed and 20 others were injured in a bar shooting in South Carolina. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says it happened early Sunday morning on St. Helena Island, about 50 miles north of Savannah, Georgia. A motive is unclear at this time.        Tron: Ares is on top of the box office, although the early returns were disappointing. Disney's sci-fi sequel made just under 34-million this weekend, below the 45 to 50-million it was targeting. Channing Tatum's dramedy Roofman placed second, earning eight million, while One Battle After Another came in third.
