President Trump says he will meet Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado in Washington next week, and he'd accept her Nobel Peace Prize if she offers it. Machado, who won the prize last October for her work promoting democracy in Venezuela, has publicly praised Trump's role in recent events there. Their meeting will be their first as the U.S. and Venezuela's future leadership remain key issues after the capture of Nicolás Maduro.        The Minnesota National Guard will help support local law enforcement following tensions in Minneapolis after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman Wednesday. A press release from Walz's office says that the support will be to help protect critical infrastructure and maintain public safety.        Oregon's governor is demanding answers after a federal shooting in Portland left two people wounded. Governor Tina Kotek says Homeland Security actions are eroding public trust and is calling for a full, transparent investigation involving Portland police and the local DA.        The House has approved a bipartisan bill to extend expired ObamaCare tax credits, sending it to the Senate. The measure passed 230 to 196, with 17 Republicans joining Democrats to keep the COVID-era Affordable Care Act subsidies in place. The vote undercuts Speaker Mike Johnson, who had insisted most House Republicans opposed the extension.        A new study is raising questions about what happens after people stop popular weight-loss injections. Research in the British Medical Journal found users of drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro often begin regaining weight within a month of stopping, and most gain it all back within two years. The study also says the weight returns about four times faster than after quitting diet and exercise alone.        The NFL postseason kicks off this weekend as Wild Card action takes over the league. It starts Saturday afternoon with the Panthers hosting the Rams, followed by a classic rivalry showdown as the Bears host the Packers Saturday night. Sunday brings three more matchups, and the opening round wraps up Monday night with the Steelers hosting the Texans.
