Please be advised, crews will be working on the water main on Canal Street (from St. Paul Street to Bridge Street) Thursday, November 10, 2022.  

 

The street will be closed to traffic from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Please note that the entrance to the Blackstone River Greenway will not be accessible during these hours.

President Trump is cheering a newly-signed Middle East peace plan. Trump departed Egypt aboard Air Force One after signing the Gaza ceasefire yesterday and addressing leaders from around the world. The 20-point plan has so far led to a Gaza ceasefire, with Hamas releasing all of its living Israeli hostages, and Israel starting to release its Palestinian prisoners.        Senate lawmakers are returning to the Capitol today for another push to end the federal government shutdown, now entering its third week. A vote is planned, but progress remains stalled as both Democrats and Republicans dig in. House Democrats are also meeting to discuss their next steps.        The man accused of firebombing the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence in April, is set for a plea hearing this morning. Cody Balmer faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated arson after allegedly targeting Governor Josh Shapiro's home while the family slept inside. Balmer pleaded not guilty and has waived his preliminary hearing and arraignment.        War Secretary Pete Hegseth says "standards are back" after Texas replaced some National Guard troops in Chicago with those meeting fitness requirements. The move follows a viral photo of seemingly heavyset Guardsmen that drew criticism online. Hegseth requires all service members to meet height, weight, and fitness standards twice a year.        SpaceX is reporting another successful test flight of Starship. The eleventh flight of the mega-rocket ended with the spacecraft splashing down in the Indian Ocean.        Communities along the Jersey Shore are cleaning up after a weekend nor'easter caused flooding and wind damage. New Jersey Transit says coastal bus routes and train service, including Atlantic City to Philadelphia, are back up for the morning commute.
