WOONSOCKET EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON

HAZARD MITIGATION

WOONSOCKET, R.I.:

The Woonsocket Emergency Management Agency seeks public input from city residents on how events such as flooding and blizzards affect our City. Your participation in an anonymous online survey will help ongoing efforts to update the City's Hazard Mitigation Plan. Residents are asked to participate in a one-minute survey that can be accessed at:

"The Woonsocket Emergency Management Agency prides itself on the high level of safety and service that we provide to our community," said EMA Director Timothy Walsh. Currently, EMA is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan and as part of that process, we are seeking public input to form a better plan. The public can provide valuable feedback by participating in our survey, which only takes one-minute and can be accessed on the City of Woonsocket’s website.

Hazard Mitigation is defined as any sustained action taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to life and property from hazard events. It is an ongoing process that occurs before, during, and after disasters and serves to break the cycle of damage and repair in hazardous areas.
