COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility and Available Local Clinics Scheduled

 

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) has updated its vaccine administration strategy to ensure the availability of COVID-19 boosters to all eligible populations. The current revision has taken place in response to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) & Center for Disease Control’s latest guidance regarding COVID-19 booster shot administration.

 

The City of Woonsocket will be partnering with the Town of North Smithfield to offer a “Moderna” COVID-19 booster clinic at Monsignor Gadoury School 1371 Park Avenue in Woonsocket.

 

The guidance for “Moderna” boosters is as follows:

 

People who received the first two doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines can get a booster dose six months or more after their second dose if they are:

 

  • Anyone age 18 years or older

The Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Clinic will be offered on the following date: (This clinic is for Moderna Only)

A new COVID vaccine is in the works to fight any type of variant. The government is making the most progress. Scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research say their vaccine appears to work well in monkeys and is now being tested on volunteers.        President Biden is getting the chance to nominate his first Supreme Court justice. He's vowed to choose a Black woman and is said to be narrowing his list. He'll be picking someone to replace Justice Stephen Breyer, who will reveal his retirement in just hours.       There appears to be new headway in an effort to keep Russia from possibly invading Ukraine. Both countries are committed to continuing talks, reportedly in two weeks. Negotiators met Wednesday and agreed that a permanent ceasefire must be observed "unconditionally."        Pope Francis is appealing for peace in Ukraine. He held a day of prayer as the threat of war looms from Russia. During his weekly audience at the Vatican he also urged parents to support their children if they're gay, saying kids should never be condemned for whatever reason.        A new online petition is underway regarding rapper Travis Scott. This time, it's in support of him performing at Coachella next year or making a guest appearance in April. The music festival already dropped him from this year's lineup after a deadly concert stampede in Texas.
