 Monday, September 6, 2021, in Honor of Labor Day 

 

Newport Ferry Shuttle Will Switch to Fall Schedule

 On Tuesday, September 7, 2021

 

 

Providence, Rhode Island, September 2, 2021 -- The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule for all fixed-route and paratransit service on Monday, September 6, 2021, in honor of Labor Day.  All RIPTA offices will be closed on the Monday holiday.

 

RIPTA Flex Routes will not be operating on the holiday except for Flex Route 203 (URI/Narragansett/South Kingstown) which will operate from 10 am to 5 pm.  The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde paratransit reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on the holiday.  However, Flex and RIde passengers can leave a detailed message on the appropriate phone lines if they want to schedule an upcoming trip.

 

The Providence Shuttle to the Newport Ferry will operate on a holiday schedule on Monday, and will switch to a fall schedule on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.  Ferry shuttle schedules can be viewed at  https://seastreak.com/ferry-routes-and-schedules/between-providence-newport-ri/.

Vice President JD Vance says yesterday's ICE-involved shooting incident where a woman was killed was the caused by Democrats and larger far-left lunatic network. Vance joined Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in the White House Press Room and said the woman, Renee Good, tried to ram the agent with her car, and he described Good as a being part of the left-wing network. Vance says the agent was seriously wounded in a similar incident with 36 stitches.        A suspect, or suspects, remain at large in connection with a deadly shooting outside a church in Utah. Two people were killed and six others were injured in the incident. Police say a funeral was taking place at an LDS church in Salt Lake City Wednesday when an altercation broke out in the parking lot and shots were fired at a group of people.        Millions are bracing for severe weather and floods as the first of two cross country storms heads East. The storm is moving out of the Four Corners region with Missouri and Kansas seeing downpours today, while a tornado has been confirmed in Oklahoma. The system will move through the Midwest throughout today.        Testimony resumes today in the trial of a former schools officer charged over his response to the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Former officer Adrian Gonzales is accused of failing to engage the gunman after arriving at Robb Elementary School just before the shooting started. Nineteen children and two teachers were killed, and another ten kids were wounded.        Today marks 15 years since a Southern Arizona shooting that injured former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. On January 8th, 2011, a gunman opened fire at a Tucson grocery store were the event was being held. Six people were killed, including a nine-year-old girl, and over a dozen were wounded.        The College Football Playoff resumes tonight with the first semifinal matchup. Number ten Miami will take on number six Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. The winner will face off in the National Championship against the victor of tomorrow's Peach Bowl between number five Oregon and number one Indiana.
