Carlos Augusto Gomez (age 22)

Providence, RI

On March 16, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Carlos Augusto Gomez with two counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of conspiracy, two counts of kidnapping with intent to extort, one count of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of extortion, and two counts of driving a motor vehicle without the consent of its owner.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence sometime between October 14, 2020 and October 15, 2020. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned today, March 24, 2021, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Yogelsy Rosario-Baez (age 19)

On March 16, 2021, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Chad Lavallee with three counts of first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Cumberland on diverse dates between January 16, 2016 and March 16, 2017. The Cumberland Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 7, 2021 in Providence County Superior Court.

At least 11 people are dead and nearly a dozen are hurt following the UPS plane crash in Louisville last night. That's the update from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear who was at the crash site today. Beshear says there could be more deaths announced soon as the operation has moved from a rescue to a recovery mission.        President Trump is voicing his disapproval of the election results in New Jersey Tuesday night. Speaking with Fox News, Trump said while all three states were pretty democratic, he thought New Jersey would do better. The massive turnout in New Jersey's governor's race is flipping five New Jersey counties back to blue.        It was a big night for Democrats as they basically swept the board in Tuesday's key elections. Voters have elected Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as the next mayor of New York City. His victory comes after President Trump warned that he may slash federal funding to the city if Mamdani won.        The Supreme Court is now weighing the legality of President Trump's tariffs. The justices heard arguments today after the high court agreed to fast track the case. The tariffs will stay in place until the court makes a decision.        A blast of Arctic air will be coming to the Eastern U.S. this weekend, brining a deep-freeze to millions. Temperatures are expected to fall from the Dakotas all the way down to Florida, with forecasters saying it will feel more like January than November. That's about ten to 15 degrees below average.        Instagram is being ordered to stop using PG-13 to describe its new teen accounts. The Motion Picture Association reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to Instagram's parent company Meta over the use of the rating. It said the claims the new setting is "guided by" the PG-13 rating are "literally false and highly misleading."
