Nathaniel Horn (age 33)

On December 18, 2020, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Nathaniel Horn with three counts first-degree child molestation and one count of assault with intent to commit child molestation

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Woonsocket on diverse dates between March 2014 and December 2014. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on January 6, 2021 in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Jonathan Santos Perez (age 26)

On December 18, 2020, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jonathan Santos Perez with one count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, one count of possession of a firearm without a license and one count of resisting arrest.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the town of Lincoln sometime on July 5, 2020. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on December 23, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado gifted her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump. The two met at the White House on Thursday, and afterward, she told reporters she presented the medal to Trump in appreciation for deposing Venezuela's former leader Nicolás Maduro. Trump told NBC News that his meeting with Machado was "great," but did not respond when asked if he'd accepted the award.        Federal agents deployed tear gas against protesters this afternoon in Minneapolis. The protest is in front of an ICE facility in the city, and the crowd remains, although the standoff with ICE officers is over for now. Officers were lined up, blocking the front entrance to the facility.        Winter storm warnings are being posted from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic as a cold front is expected to dump heavy snow across eleven states. The National Weather Service says the strong cold front will create favorable conditions for lake effect snow downwind of the Great Lakes today. Up to six inches of snow and winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour are predicted from Minnesota to Maryland, and as far south as Tennessee.        Last week's unemployment numbers are better than expected. The Labor Department reported Thursday that just 198-thousand Americans filed initial claims for unemployment benefits for the week ending January 10th. That's a drop of nine-thousand from the previous week.        The World Health Organization is trying to slow down consumption of sugary drinks and alcoholic beverages. The organization released a new report saying they are getting cheaper because of low tax rates in many countries, fueling obesity, heart disease and other health issues in young adults and children. It points to high sugar products like fruit juices, sweetened milk drinks, and ready-to-drink coffees and teas that are tax free in many places.        Over 100 classic episodes of Sesame Street is now available on YouTube. The streaming giant announced Thursday that it's now the largest digital library of the educational show. That includes the first-ever Sesame Street episode to air back in 1969.
