Join us at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library on Saturday afternoon November 16th for a family craft between 2-3pm.

We will be making birdfeeders out of pinecones. We have lots of colorful yarn to attach to your pinecone. Then  roll the pinecone in vegetable shortening and then roll the pinecone in birdseed! We use vegetable shortening instead of  peanut butter due to allergy concerns. Finished pinecones will be placed in a zip lock bag for safe travels. This is a drop in craft while supplies last. No need to register in advance.

The Senate will vote in a couple of hours on a funding measure to end the government shutdown. The Republican-backed measure failed to be passed for an eighth time on Tuesday. It came after President Trump said he will cut programs favored by Democrats, with a full list of targeted programs expected Friday.        Congressional maps across the U.S. could be impacted by today's Supreme Court hearing. Justices are hearing arguments over whether Louisiana's new House map violates the Constitution. The 2024 map created a second majority-Black congressional district after Black voters sued, arguing the old map violated the Voting Rights Act because they were being underrepresented.        The Trump administration has taken away visas from at least six foreign citizens after it accused them of the celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk. The conservative activist was assassinated while speaking at a college in Utah last month. The State Department posted screen shots of online comments from the six people and said they are no longer welcome in the country.        Chicago officials are speaking out against a federal ICE operation on the city's Southeast Side. Homeland Security says the incident began yesterday after a chase ensued when a suspected illegal immigrant rammed into a federal vehicle. After a crowd formed and objects were reportedly thrown, ICE agents deployed tear gas, leaving 13 Chicago police officers exposed.        Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with President Trump later this week. That's according to multiple reports citing Trump administration and Ukrainian officials. Zelenskyy will travel to the White House for the meeting on Friday.        The MLB Postseason rolls on tonight. The Mariners will host the Toronto Blue Jays in Seattle for game three of the American League Championship Series. Seattle holds a two games to none lead.
